Description
This Maji Garnet ring was made using organic forms by water casting sterling silver. In ice cold water, the hot liquid silver drops and solidifies into funky and interesting forms like droplets and waves. Every ring is different because the process is free form.
Most often, water represents cleansing, life and freedom. Water is a contextual symbol in literature, however, meaning that it can symbolize many things depending on how it is used in a novel or a story. In any case, water is a symbol of power in stories. It has the ability to free characters as well as claim them.
The water cast forms are recycled sterling silver. No nickel is used in my jewelry.
This is a silver Maji Garnet ring with a 6mm silver garnet bezel set on top. It is one of our stackable rings that can be worn together with others like it. The stackable rings that that I’ve made are alloyed with argentium. This makes it so the silver doesn’t tarnish as easily as traditional sterling silver. There is actually more silver in the argentium silver than there is in sterling silver. This is also a nickel free metal so its hypoallergenic.
